Casillo Advogados, founded in 1967, is one of the most traditional and well-regarded law firms in Paraná State.
Over the course of more than five decades, the Firm has dedicated to working in the most diverse areas of Business Law, guided by ethics and professionalism and keeping alive its mission of providing legal services with the highest standards of quality and excellence.
With a highly qualified legal team and an extremely versatile structure both physically and technologically, Casillo Advogados is able to serve its clients quickly and efficiently, thus combining tradition and modernity.
Inspired by the unconditional dedication of its Founding Partner, Dr. João Casillo, the firm is heading towards a challenging future that will be faced with dynamism, seriousness, and a deep respect for all of its clients, employees and partners.
In early 1966, I received a gift from a student at the School of Fine Arts (Escola de Belas Artes do Paraná). It was a bust representing Themis, which is identified today as a symbol of Justice. That was the first of a number of sculptures, paintings, engravings, reproductions, historical documents, stamps, coins, handicrafts, books, garments, adornments such as earrings, pendants and rings, the most diverse, respectful and insolent caricatures, today gathered in more than two thousand items, coming from the most diverse parts of the world.
Some pieces were acquired in antique shops, others are museum replicas. The largest number of them either comes directly from the artists’ hands or from photos or reproductions. Even at a gas station on the side of a road, acquisitions took place. Not to mention that, as the collection grows, the number of friends who bring a very welcome contribution keeps increasing.
Some pieces of the collection have already reached thousands of people, through reproductions in the calendars that, since 2002, Casillo Advogados has been publishing.
A collection, of course, is not meant, in a petty way, to be restricted to one or a small number of people. Especially when related to a theme that has existed since the first two humans had to establish rules of conduct for their coexistence.
If in legal books we have the opportunity to know how scholars, for centuries and in the most different cultures, have understood Law and the meaning of Justice, through artistic manifestations we can have the vision and understanding of those who are not specialists in the matter.
Once again, my sincere thanks go to everyone who collaborated, and will certainly continue to collaborate, for the making up of the collection.
Prof. Dr. João Casillo
